DIY Vitamin C Serum With Tablets For Oily Skin

I used to be this person who would walk in a cosmetic store and come out with ten new products every time. A week later I would feel let down with the less than expected performance of the products, and wasteful expenditure thus incurred.

I do not feel like spending a ton of money on skincare products anymore. I love DIY skincare products. They have changed my life.

Today I have yet another DIY remedy to share with you – DIY Vitamin C Glow Serum For Oily Skin. This serum uses Vitamin C tablets.

Can I Crush Vitamin C Tablets For My Face?

Absolutely! You can use tablets to make this serum.

Vitamin C is not water-soluble, so it will not dissolve in water. This is why you need to crush the tablet and mix it with a carrier oil.

I prefer using almond oil as my carrier oil because it is light and absorbs quickly into the skin.

If you have dry skin, you can use olive oil or jojoba oil as your carrier oil.

Vitamin C is an amazing ingredient for skincare. It helps to brighten the skin, fade sun spots and wrinkles, and it even helps to reduce acne scars.

Plus, Vitamin C is an antioxidant that helps to protect the skin from free radical damage.

How Is This Glow Serum Good For Your Skin?

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is rightly known as the holy grail of skincare products. Name just about any skin concern – acne, uneven skin tone, fine lines, dull skin, etc. And there is a good chance that Vitamin C can fix it.

Almond Oil

Almond Oil reduces puffiness and under-eye circles. It is known to improve complexion, treat dry skin, improve acne, reverse sun-damage, and mitigate the appearance of scars.

Aloe Vera

I use Aloe Vera in many of my recipes. This is because its gel-like components are known to heal the skin for a variety of ailments.

It gets absorbed easily, making aloe vera gel ideal for oily skin. I swap my regular moisturizer quite a few times with aloe vera to help moisture get retained in my skin.

Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, it is widely used to treat acne.

Rosewater

Rosewater soothes skin irritation, reduces redness of the skin, helps get rid of acne, and is a great cleanser for removing oil and dirt accumulated in skin pores [R].
