Homemade Aloe Vera Moisturizer For Oily Skin
The DIY moisturizer that we are going to prepare today has two main ingredients – Aloe Vera and Tea Tree Oil.
Aloe Vera Gel is a good face moisturizer. Aloe vera skin care provides balanced moisturization to oily skin. It has acne reduction, anti-inflammatory, and anti-aging properties too. Tea Tree Oil treats and prevents acne.
This homemade aloe vera moisturizer for oily skin will treat your active pimples and prevent new breakouts as well and does not make your skin oily.
I used to apply this aloe vera face moisturizer in my early 20’s when I suffered from active acne and was using isotretinoin. It was a difficult time for me. I used to blame the hormonal changes, but later realized it was a result of some oily skincare mistakes that worsened my skin and flared up my acne.
Should I Use Oils On My Skin?
Many people attempt to treat their oily skin with harsh products that strip the skin of its natural oils, but this only makes the problem worse. The skin needs to be left to naturally produce its own oils to keep it healthy.
When you have oily skin, you need to use an oil that is non-comedogenic, which means it won’t clog your pores and cause breakouts. There are many great oils that are good for your skin, including olive oil, apricot kernel oil, tea tree oil, etc.
And no, they won’t clog your pores and make you go oilier.
Why You Should Use Moisturizer For Oily Skin
1) Moisturizing isn’t the same as applying oil to your skin. A facial moisturizer is essential for keeping the skin hydrated by adding water to it. Having a lot of oil on your face doesn’t mean your face has enough water.
2) If you are using acne treatments such as isotretinoin, your skin can quickly become very dry and start peeling off. Using a facial moisturizer daily is the best way to prevent these side effects of acne treatments.
3) Moisturizers are not always greasy. Some moisturizers that are specifically created for oily skin care, are light and don’t leave your skin feeling too oily. They contain ingredients like glycerin and aloe, that prevent oils from getting trapped into your pores. Here is a complete list of the best oily skincare ingredients.

This natural moisturizer for the face can be stored in an airtight container for 7-8 days and then make a fresh batch. Since we are not using any preservative in our DIY recipe, I prefer using a fresh batch every few days.
Should You Use This Moisturizer As A Day Cream Or As A Night Cream?
I use this aloe vera lotion for both day and night.
The main difference between a night cream and a day cream is that the night cream often uses photosensitive ingredients that can’t be used in the day cream. The creams can also be heavier and greasier.
The creams that are heavier and greasier tend to be better for dry skin types. This moisturizer does not have any photosensitizing ingredients, so I will probably stick with it for the time being.
